Addington Neolithic Long Barrow (Remains)
This chambered long barrow is sited on private land but is near enough to the road (which actually bisects it!) for you to get an idea of its size and character. We could only see stones on one side of the road and the grass and undergrowth was probably hiding stones on the other side. Maybe in the winter it’s more obvious. About 200m north of here is another long barrow, ‘The Chestnuts’, which is in someones back garden and the owner used to conduct pre-booked tours of what is quite a huge and better preserved monument, but sadly they are no longer doing that.
